This post actually made it into three categories (Good News, Love, and People Helping People). The Muncie Downtown Development Parntership (People Helping People) and a bunch of local volunteers (love) work together to bring an original music showcase festival to Muncie, IN (Good News)! The Muncie Music Fest was a labor of love that began when The MDDP could no longer afford to put on their traditional “End of Summer Jam”, which had previously brought acts like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Peter Frampton to town for a big end of summer blow out! With the help of some of Muncie’s local misfits (unnamed for legal sake) The MDDP and local volunteers crafted a plan to bring in over 40 local bands from The Muncie Music Scene to showcase the musical talents of our little post-factory town. These are the kind of community events that Muncie should be proud of and build off of in order to grow into a post-factory town success story! Remember what Margaret Mead said, “Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.”
So you want to do your part to help out and bring your music to the little town of Muncie? Please click the link below and fill out a band submission form. We will be taking applications until July 1st, 2011!
